Internship Program Details:

The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago Summer Intern Program is a paid internship that is open to undergraduate, graduate and PHD students.  It begins in June and continues for 12 consecutive weeks. Interns work 40 hours per week and are assigned to one department. 

*Students who are currently taking a gap year or gap semester due to the COVID-19 pandemic remain eligible for this program.

Typical Day:

Project oriented hands on assignments and professional development activities including a volunteer project. Interns receive a solid overview of the Fed while contributing to their designated Bank department.

Intern-Strategic Planning&Support

Data Logging and Analytics (DLA) is the Federal Reserve Systems (FRS) enterprise capability for capturing, governing and analyzing data. Our mission is to strengthen the operational performance and information security posture of the FRS via 'single pane of glass' data analytics.

Job Responsibilities

1. Assist with the development and/or improvement of existing operational processes, specific with agent health and data flow
2. Assist with the development of overall platform health dashboarding and reporting     
3. Assist with access and security control compliance reviews.
4. Assist with Level 1 support for customer requests via a documented playbook.
5. Assist with operational and project documentation creation.

Job Requirements

1. Area of study in Information Technology or Data Analytics/Data Science

2. Basic Microsoft suite skill set (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

3. Experience with utilizing a web-based application and understanding of basic web application terminologies (UI, Search Bar, etc.).

4. Some experience with query based languages (regular expression experience a plus).

5. Basic understanding of information system components (router, server/host, IP address, etc.).
