Position Summary:
By supporting the Director of Operations, the Summer Intern will have an opportunity to meaningfully contribute to DT Institute's mission to act and be thought leaders in the development community. The Intern will administratively support the to the Impact Grants Program, offering small and medium grants to support global development initiatives. The successful applicant will also work closely with the Director of Operations to ensure healthy workflow and effective business operations for all of DT Institute.

Primary Functions & Responsibilities: Working with the Grants and Research Division, the Summer Intern will have an opportunity to meaningfully contribute to efforts to advance a philanthropic and research agenda that positions DT Institute as a leader in improving development outcomes. The Summer Intern will report to the Director of Research to support organizational development initiatives to promote healthy and productive operational workflows across the company. The Summer Intern will be further exposed to business process management at HQ level and liaise with field based programs to support their needs for successful implementation.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. or have a student visa
  • Grade point average of 3.2 or higher preferred
  • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
  • Be currently enrolled in or have been accepted to an accredited college, university, or course of study.
  • Actively seeking a degree in Political Science, International Relations, International Development, Peace and Conflict Studies, Law degree, or similar field of study.

Requirements:
  • Basic knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with professional written communication
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and dynamic with a willingness and ability to use initiative to assist the organization to achieve its objectives; and
  • The highly developed sense of ethics and integrity;
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines, flexibility and to respond in a timely manner to queries and provide feedback
