Pay Grade/Pay Range:$16.63 - $23.27 (Hourly N3)

Department/Organization: 504241 - Building Maintenance

Normal Work Schedule: Days, may vary depending on projects

Job Summary: The Trades Helper performs simple manual work in assisting skilled mechanics and apprentices of various trades under close supervision. Typically assigned to assist crew of the same trade on a regular basis.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.


Final candidates who are not current University of Alabama employees must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications: Prefer some experience in the construction field.
