The Position

The Business Account Manager is responsible for maintaining and growing new Small Business customer relationships within Lumos vast Fiber Optic footprint. Drive sales for broadband products including voice and hospitality services. Work with Business Development Manager to identify and qualify business opportunities to grow the small business segment. The BAM will be responsible for achieving a monthly revenue quota for new sales, upgrades and renewal of current services. Review services and conduct analysis with an effort towards educating clients on the business benefits of Lumos products and services. Prepare proposals and presentations as appropriate for specific recommendations of business solutions. Create and manage MDU and Developer relationships - Maintain an expertise of Lumos products and services. Manage sales opportunities and provide appropriate weekly reporting and forecasting of activity using Salesforce.com.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Sell telecommunications products and services to both individuals and companies.
  • Build market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships.
  • Identify, contact and build relationships with prospective customers through a combination of telephone and in-person cold calls, networking and referrals to obtain appointments.
  • Leverage the CRM system to develop prospecting and sales strategy that ensures high activity and effective closing ratios.
  • Create open and effective lines of communication throughout the organization to maintain a sense of teamwork, enthusiasm, pride, and quality workmanship.
  • Capture and review any competitive intelligence gathered and proactively communicates this information to marketing.
  • Write and submit accurate orders.
  • Manage a territory using technology, prioritization and time management skills.
  • Submit pricing and pre-qualification requests reflecting the client's requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred;
  • Minimum 2 years successful proven experience in sales and/or account management role;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to facilitate establishing executive level relationships with clients required;
  • Prior experience and understanding of telecommunications products and services including Voice and Data services preferred;
  • Well versed in consultative, value oriented solutions-based selling;
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple simultaneous projects with multiple customers;
  • General working knowledge of Microsoft Applications
  • Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and CRM tools, preferably Salesforce.com
