Role : Director - Data Science

Location : Dallas, TX - Hybrid, in office presence required

Overview: We are looking for an experienced Data Science Director to contribute to the design, development, and implementation of Generative AI-driven solutions at Blue Yonder. The focus of this position is to lead the Gen AI data science team and responsibilities include LLM fine-tuning, training, and evaluation. This team owns the work involved in customizing and optimizing large language models to meet the specific needs of our end users including both paying customers and internal customers.

As a key leader in the Blue Yonder AI Innovation Studio, you will work on cutting-edge projects that push the boundaries of Generative AI and machine learning in the supply chain and retail domains. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in data science, machine learning, and software engineering, with a passion for innovation and problem-solving.

What you will do:

* Model Customization and Optimization: Fine-tune large language models based on requirements and datasets, ensuring the highest level of accuracy and relevance.

* Data Management and Analysis: Collect, process, and analyze vast amounts of data to improve model performance. Implement data cleansing, and preprocessing techniques to ensure data quality.

* Solution Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy customized AI solutions that integrate seamlessly with customer systems.

* Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor model performance, adjusting as necessary to maintain and improve output quality.

* Research and Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest developments in AI, LLMs, and machine learning techniques. Propose and implement innovative approaches to enhance our AI solutions.

* Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and customer engagement teams to understand client needs and deliver solutions that meet or exceed expectations.

* Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of models, algorithms, and data analysis processes. Prepare reports on model performance, insights, and recommendations for internal and external stakeholders.

What we are looking for:

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field.

* Minimum of 10+ years experience in data science, machine learning, or a related field, with recent experience with large language models.

* Expertise in programming languages such as Python and libraries/frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.

* Strong background in data preprocessing, model training, and fine-tuning techniques specific to LLMs.

* Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.

* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

* Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.

* Passion for AI innovation and commitment to staying informed about the latest industry trends and technologies.

The salary range for this position is $152,311 - $197,689

The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
