Your Job

Koch Industries is looking for a Senior Manager Strategy & Design to add to their Strategy & Business Design service area for the Koch Business Transformation (KBT) team. This service area applies customer-centric design practices to help facilitate business leaders through a process of gaining vision and strategy alignment, defining outcomes and value, developing target operating models, identifying major capability gaps, and defining work that needs to be accomplished to achieve key business outcomes.


Our Team

The Koch Business Transformation Team (KBT) is an internal team that accelerates transformation in the Koch companies. We partner with senior leaders to support large transformation efforts and empower them to achieve their business outcomes. We do this by addressing success factors early in the transformation journey, building capability, and targeting critical phases with appropriate support to create profitable outcomes (engagements, knowledge sharing, and application of relevant tools, principles, and frameworks).

We are constantly working on our craft and developing more effective services, capabilities, and approaches that enable us to be better partners to the Koch companies.


What You Will Do

Deliver Engagements and or Advise Business Leaders

  • Help business leaders define and lead transformation efforts that support customer and employee-centric outcomes
  • Participate on cross-functional project teams to deliver top quality engagements across Koch that focus on vision and strategy articulation, outcome and bet definition, capability gap identification, transformation strategy, target operating model development, roadmap design, and experimentation.
  • Help build capability inside the Koch companies so they can sustain value capture from their bets
  • Use a range of tools and methods to help lead and facilitate business leaders to overcome obstacles and solution problems in a way that drives progress, improves knowledge exchange and ways of working, and accelerates value capture.
  • Facilitate and lead strategic business design discussions with key customer stakeholders
  • Plan working sessions and develop assets to deliver targeted outcomes
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews and synthesize findings

Build Capability and Knowledge Processes
  • Work closely with KBT leaders to help Koch's businesses maximize and accelerate value of their highest value transformation programs.
  • Contribute to the formal development of business design practice tools, methodologies, and applications, and inspire innovative approaches and techniques
  • Help evangelize learnings, insights, connections, and recommendations across businesses, disciplines, and departments.

You Are

  • A Facilitator, who spearheads activities on projects, including workshops, target operating model design, and roadmap development.
  • A Storyteller, who can frame and tell the story of strategy to action. Present the communication of research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and experience design rationale both verbally and visually.
  • A Principled Entrepreneur, who is contribution minded, practices a philosophy of mutual benefit and demonstrates integrity, humility, and respect.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience communicating with and influencing senior leaders
  • Experience leading cross-functional project teams
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25%


What Will Put You Ahead

  • 10+ years experience
  • Management consulting experience (strategy, customer experience, service design, process improvement)
  • Business architecture experience
  • Experience identifying opportunities to apply artificial intelligence
  • MBA
