Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $62,300 - Midpoint: $81,000 (Salaried E10)

Department/Organization: 200721 - Enterprise Technology

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm

Job Summary: The Systems Engineer I supports the functionality and availability of enterprise-wide mission critical University and non-critical systems by performing systems engineering and administration under moderate supervision.

Additional Department Summary: Supports the functionality and availability of enterprise-wide mission critical University and non-critical systems by performing intermediate level systems engineering and administration independently or under limited supervision. After hours monitoring of systems health and performance is required.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree; OR associate's degree and two (2) years of IT experience; OR High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of IT experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Skills and Knowledge: Experience with Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager / System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM). Experience in OS deployment, scripting, packaging, software deployment, and third-party system management experience, such as PDQ, Patch-my-PC, etc.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a systems engineering environment including cloud services, clustered servers, performance tuning, and application/database/web server hosted environments. Professional certification such as Microsoft Certified System Administrator, Apple Certified Systems Administrator or equivalent experience. Experience managing Microsoft Active Directory and managing endpoints via Intune or MECM / SCCM. Experience using Powershell or other scripted tools. Experience in a higher education or corporate research environment.
