DLZ Corporation currently has a Bridge Project Manager opportunity in Columbus, Ohio, Cleveland, Ohio or Lexington, Kentucky.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for preparation of design and inspection of new and existing bridges under direct supervision of an experienced professional engineer.
  • Collaborates with other coworkers as necessary.
  • Strives to gain experience while maintaining a high level of work quality, meeting set schedules, and performing work within the allotted budget.

BRIDGE ENGINEERING:

  • Perform as Design Engineer for the Design of Level 1 (minimum) Bridge Project deliverables, adhering to current ODOT and or KYTC Design Criteria.
  • Perform hydraulic modeling for new and existing bridges a plus.
  • Perform bridge load ratings.
  • Develop construction cost estimates.
  • Calculate project quantities.
  • Bridge condition inspection, Level 1/Level 2 a plus. Position is primarily for bridge design, although periodic bridge inspections are a part of the position as needed. This position offers an opportunity for some climbing, if interested and able.
  • Prepare and/or assist in the preparation of reports, technical feasibility studies, and preliminary engineering studies focused on bridges.
  • Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan.
  • Perform other associated duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with 4 years minimum of practical experience.
  • Practical experience with ODOT or KYTC a plus.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification in Ohio and or Kentucky a plus.
  • Disciplined in following through on quality control on all elements of work.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and listening skills.
    • Experience in one or more of the following or similar software preferred:
      • Design/Analysis
      • OpenBridge Designer
      • Merlin-Dash
      • BrR
      • STAAD
      • HEC-RAS
    • Drafting
      • OpenRoads Designer
      • Autodesk Civil 3D
    • Other
      • Estimator
