The below is a position with Marley Engineered Products. Marley Engineered Products is a marketplace leader in innovative comfort heating and ventilation solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial markets. With a portfolio that includes baseboard, wall, unit and infrared heaters as well as ceiling fans and air circulators, we create simplified heating solutions for our complex world.

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As an Electrical Engineer you will provide value-added engineering support in the maintenance and improvement of existing products and support for existing and new products. the role of the Electrical Engineer will be to utilize project-oriented system design and analysis skills to support project plans, designs, implementation, testing, and documentation to support products.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

  1. Design and Testing
  • Analyze, design, develop and test product component parts, product subassemblies and product complete assemblies according to company and industry standards.
  • Produces and reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Develop test methods, instrumentation and procedures not covered by recognized Approval Agency requirements or rating codes. Administer and carry out these test programs with team.
  • Design electronic circuits, subsystems, systems, and products of varying complexity (may include analog, digital, microprocessor, high voltage/power circuitry, and DC Motor Driver Circuitry at the schematic capture and PCB layout stages of development)
  • Write test plans and perform evaluation testing, including how the electronic components interface with mechanical components

  1. Technical Support and Analysis
  • Provide technical support for existing products, including quality assessment, failure analysis, and product improvement activities
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide timely and effective solutions during the development and manufacturing stages
  • Provide technical support to sales and marketing teams for bids and proposals
  • Participate in design reviews, providing technical expertise and contributing to continuous improvement efforts
  • Analyze and interpret test data and make product revisions as necessary to comply with safety and performance requirements and standards; and to perform root cause analysis to develop corrective actions.

3. Documentation and Communication:

  • Make corrections, revisions, or enhancements to current products through Bill Of Material changes, Drawings, and supporting Documents.
  • Develop, maintain, and update DFMEAs, and assist in development of PFMEAs and Process Control Plans.
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure successful transition of prototypes to production

4. Project Management

  • Actively participate in project teams and activities related to the development of new product and support of existing products
  • Work with Product Compliance, Engineering Lab, Plant Manufacturing Eng. Team, Product Managers, Commodity Managers, and other Product Engineers to enable efficient execution of resolutions to issues.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and make recommendations on solutions to meet project objectives

Ideal Experience & Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in an electrical engineering role preferred
  • Experience in 2D and 3D modeling (CAD, SolidWorks, etc.)
  • Designing Lab Tests
  • Knowledge and experience with electrical circuits (AC & DC)
  • Project Management- From design concept to manufacturing
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment that is fast paced and demanding
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and effectively implement changes
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-funcational teams at all levels (scientific, sales/marketing, production) and present information verbally and in written form to management
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Acrobat)
  • HVAC Experience is a plus.

Education & Certifications

  • BS in Engineering Field - Preferably Electrical, Electronics, or Technical Equivalent
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred

Travel & Working Environment

  • Onsite
  • Occasional (10%) overnight travel required to utility or contractor facilities
